Yesterday Reborn offers data transfer from home video tapes, cine films, audio tapes, photographs, negatives, slides and other media as mentioned on the website.
No payment is requested at the time of placing your order. Payment must be made once the order is completed and before items are returned.
All goods sent to us should be sent via fully tracked service such as Royal Mail. Any items that we return will also be sent via a tracked service.
Relating most particularly to home made films and movies on either tape or cine film we cannot guarantee the quality of the final product as it depends on the original. We do remove all commercial content, unless specifically requested that it is left in position. Film leader on cine films is edited out where possible as are blank portions of film. However, we do leave in the final digitised product sections of tape that may have sound and no picture, or picture and no sound.
Negatives and slides are hand dusted prior to scanning and the final image is hand adjusted for problems with colour casts. This is where, typically slides, display an overall blue or orange tint due to age. We do our best to remove this tint and bring the original colours etc back again. No further action is taken to improve the original scan but we do offer a photo restoration service.
Tapes that exhibit mould will, by nature, be sub standard and tapes badly infected will not be digitised. The mould is harmful. However, if there is just a small and light “sprinkling” of mould this can be cleaned, but the tape will be degraded.
Our liability is limited to replacing the media only with new media or its current equivalent, where available. We are not liable for any sentimental loss etc. We are not liable for items lost in the post although we only send finished items via tracked service, if you want them returned.
We assume that you have full ownership of copyright on the items that you send to us. In the event of any Copyright issue you will be responsible and Yesterday Reborn and / or its agents, will be indemnified by you.
We keep a copy of your finished items for 30 days. During this period you can request additional copies and this will be charged solely at the cost of the media plus postage.
For example, you have 3 films digitised onto a USB stick. You lose the stick (!) and require a copy. If this is within 30 days you would pay just for the stick (£9.95 or whatever) plus postage. You will not have to pay for the whole digitising process again.
Beyond 30 days your data is scrubbed from the system.
Your physical data (films, tapes, photos, slides etc) is held for a period of 180 days, following invoicing and despatch. If you have not requested the items back during that period it will be destroyed.
Your digitised items are not copy protected in any way so you can easily make your own copies for yourself or anyone else.
When using our Cloud Delivery Service you will be sent a link to the files either on our own Server, or by using a third party secure service.
This link can be distributed to others, and they can download the files. Anyone with a link can download the files.
We cannot always guarantee the uptime of the Servers used but we have had no issues to date.
We strongly suggest that you download the files and also copy them to your own resources.
Files will be available for 180 days.
